Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 20, 2025

NoFussNews provides an iOS app and website focused on low-drama news. We built both to work without harvesting personal information, and this policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the controls you have.

Respectful by default

The app works without accounts and stores only the minimum diagnostics needed to keep things running.

Your data isn’t for sale

We never sell personal data and don’t track you across other apps or websites for ads.

Original sources stay original

Stories open on the publisher’s site so you can read them directly from the source.

Summary

  • We show our own editorial summaries inside the App.
  • When you tap a story, the App opens the original publisher’s article, or—if no single canonical source exists—a Google search for the headline.
  • We do not bundle or cache third-party articles, images, or videos in the App.
  • We do not sell personal data.

Information we collect in the App

Essential identifiers for push notifications (optional). If you opt in to notifications, the App (via OneSignal) may use a device push token/identifier to deliver notifications. We do not use this for tracking across apps or websites.

Diagnostics. The App and iOS may generate basic crash/diagnostic logs to help us maintain reliability.

Usage interactions (basic). We may collect minimal, aggregated interaction data (e.g., app opens, notification delivery) to ensure the App works as intended.

We do not ask you to create an account in the App and we do not collect contact information through the App.

Location

By default, the App does not collect precise location. If you explicitly grant location permission for a feature (if/when offered), location access is used only to provide that feature and is not sold.

Web content opened from the App

When you tap a story, the App opens external pages (original publisher sites or Google results). Those sites may set their own cookies or collect data under their own policies. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party websites.

Third-party services

  • OneSignal (push notifications): used to deliver notifications.
  • Apple (iOS services): iOS may provide analytics/crash diagnostics subject to your device settings.

How we use information

  • Deliver and operate the App (e.g., notifications).
  • Diagnose and fix issues (e.g., crashes).
  • Improve product safety and performance.

How we do not use information

  • We do not sell personal data.
  • We do not use collected data to track you across apps or websites for advertising.

Data retention

We keep diagnostic and notification data only as long as necessary for the purposes above and as required by law.

Children’s privacy

NoFussNews is intended for a general audience and not directed to children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date and post the revised version on this page.
